August 15/16 - The Family Dog - PawsWay Pet Discovery Centre245 Queens Quay WestToronto, ON, CA 416 360 PAWS (7297). 1 pm to 3 pm. Free Admission. Celebrate the family dog!! Discover all the joy and delight that dogs provide to children, parents and seniors alike. On hand will be trainers, groomers and other canine experts to show how to fully enhance the relationship with your own family dog.

August 22 – Hugs for Hounds - Bridgeport Rod & Gun Club, 1229 Beitz Road, Breslau, Ontario. 10:30AM-5:00PM. Admission - $5/family. Booths available - call for details. An indoor/outdoor fundraiser supporting Sighthound and all breed rescues. Participating Rescues will be holding raffles and selling goods to raise funds for their groups! BBQ, Entertainment, Vendors, Exhibitors, Saturday evening buffet and dogs and dog fun runs (please bring muzzles). All dogs must be leashed and non-aggressive. Hope you can join us! August 22 - Puppy Pawlooza - Plunkett Estate, 9282 Elviage Drive, London, Ontario. 10 am to 6 pm. 75 vendors, Adopt a Pet animal rescues from across the province, doggie contests and demonstrations. For more information visit http://www.pawlooza.com/.

August 22/23 - Doggie Day Spa. PawsWay Pet Discovery Centre245 Queens Quay WestToronto, ON, CA 416 360 PAWS (7297) 1 pm to 3 pm. Free Admission. Learn how to pamper your pet shamelessly - from grooming to nails to massage.

August 23 - Go For Guide Dogs - Lemoine Point Conservation Area, Kingston, Ontario. Registration for the walk starts at 10:00am, and the walk begins at 10:30am. Walk your dog with other local dog owners in the Greater Kingston Area to raise funds towards the training of guide dogs for the blind. For more information visit http://www.guidedogs.ca

August 29/30 - Back to School. PawsWay Pet Discovery Centre245 Queens Quay WestToronto, ON, CA 416 360 PAWS (7297). 1 pm to 3 pm. Free Admission. Watch demonstrations on child and dog safety with Cat & Jack. Teach your child how to feel comfortable around dogs, how to react if a strange dog approaches and how to avoid dog bites.

August 30 - Peanut Polo Cup - Augusta Polo Club, Augusta, Ontario ( 20 mins from Brockville). General admission Car Entry Fee: $10.00 per car – $15.00 at the door so be sure to PRE PURCHASE your car pass. Walkins are $2.00/ per person. Raising funds for pet rescue. Bring your dog and a blanket for this month’s movie madness – featuring the animated film ‘Bolt’. Follow the adventures of ‘Bolt’ – a super hero dog (at least in his own mind!). September 13 - Hamilton/Burlington SPCA 20th Annual Wiggle Waggle Walk-a-thon. Bayfront Park, Hamilton, Ontario. Raise pledges and come out to walk for the animals! October 3 - Energetic Healing Therapies for Pets - Rotary Hall, Beeton, Ontario. Advance Registration only :on or before Sept 15 $95.00 + GST = $99.75 . After Sept 15th $110.00 + GST = $115.50. October 4 - Canine Nutrition 2009 - Rotary Hall, Beeton, Ontario. Advance Registration: on or before Sept 15 - $95.00 + GST = $99.75 After Sept 15th - $110.00 + GST = $115.50. Itchy skin, runny eyes, gastrointestinal problems and a myriad of other complaints can often be traced to dietary sensitivities. November 1 - 4 – 1st World Congress on Mitigating the Risks of Dangerous Dogs - Venue TBA, Toronto. Registration required for admission.
